Summer view across Charfield

Public Rights of Way (PROW)

Public Rights of Way are public highways that are legally protected in the same way as roads. They run across the countryside, through villages and towns, and across private property. They cannot be closed or diverted without permission from the local authority. The Rights of Way in Charfield can be seen on this map  (click here for a much larger (5MB) copy).

The Parish Council and the Charfield footpath wardens assist South Gloucestershire Highway maintenance department by reporting on issues and defects on the local PROW network. Please let us know of anything untoward you encounter on your walks.

Charfield Parish Council will be installing a PROW noticeboard in late 2012 or early 2013, next to the Jubilee Commemorative Stone by the entrance to the Memorial Hall. It is intended that occasional summer guided walks will be planned, which would meet at the noticeboard.
