Cemex Quarry Applications
At yesterday’s meeting of the South Gloucestershire (West) Development Committee it was decided to defer the decision on two applications from Cemex, the Mexican owned quarry company operating out of Wickwar Quarry. This was to obtain more detailed information from the Envonmental Health Officer (not present at meeting) regarding the noise measurements upon which he felt there was no reason to oppose the applications.
The next meeting will be 11th October at Thornbury.
These applications are PT07/0577/RVC (to allow the crushing and screening of mineral and the production of ready mixed concrete between the hours of 5.30am-22.00pm Mondays to Fridays and 5.30am-12.00pm on Saturday) and PT07/0578/RVC (to allow the coating plant to operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week.)
The further application PT07/0573/F (Extension of existing limestone quarry through progressive extraction in a northwards (Charfield) direction, and associated planting and landscaping) was not discussed at this meeting.
You can view all these applications on the South Gloucestershire Website.
